Freeze risk, from the forecast and the pipe

Unheated pipes at or below 20°F are high risk. A hose left on the sillcock is the most common burst. This is not a pipe-by-pipe survey. HyreRestore is not a plumber.

Disconnect the hose the most common burst in a cold snap A hose left attached holds water in the sillcock. The freeze is at the wall. Drip a faucet on the coldest run, open cabinets, keep the heat on.

Enter the forecast low, where the pipes are, and whether the heat is on. High risk is unheated space at or below 20°F, or heat off in the same weather. If a pipe has already burst: water off at the main, then a plumber. Restoration is the water that reached materials, not the pipe itself.

At what temperature do pipes freeze?
Water freezes at 32°F, but a pipe in a heated house may not. Unheated crawl spaces, garages and sillcocks with hoses attached fail first. Duration and wind matter. This tool uses 20°F as a high-risk line for unheated pipes, which is a practical threshold, not a code figure.
What do I do if a pipe bursts?
Water off at the main. Then a plumber. Photograph before anything is torn out if you may claim.
