What HyreRestore is, and what it isn’t

HyreRestore is an independent resource for homeowners dealing with property damage. We focus on the decisions and the sequence — what to do first, how drying and reconstruction work, where insurance fits, and how to judge a restoration company — and on connecting people with local restoration professionals when they are ready to get quotes.

How we are paid, stated plainly. We expect to earn revenue by introducing homeowners to restoration companies. You are never charged, and nothing here is gated. The risk in that model is obvious: the money can start deciding the advice. The only honest test of whether it has is whether the site publishes things that are commercially inconvenient — so here are four of ours.

  • You are generally not required to use the mitigation company for the rebuild. Mitigation and reconstruction are separate scopes with separate pricing, and the rebuild is the phase where you have the most time to compare bids. Telling people that reduces the value of every introduction we make.
  • We publish no average restoration prices. An average would rank, and it would be wrong. Our cost page explains the structure of the bill instead.
  • We rate no companies and publish no reviews. There is no shortlist here to be bought into, and how we vet sets out exactly how little our checks currently prove.
  • We tell people the slowest possible thing to do. Document before anything moves, read before you sign, and be slowest of all about an assignment of benefits. A lead-generation site benefits from urgency; a homeowner with a wet house does not.

What we are not

  • We are not a restoration contractor. We do not dry, remediate or rebuild property.
  • We are not an insurance adjuster and do not act on claims.
  • We rate no restoration firms and publish no reviews, because none of it is verifiable yet.
  • We are not a public adjuster, a law firm or an insurance producer, and nothing here is legal, insurance or medical advice.
  • We are not an emergency dispatch line. If water is running or the building is unsafe, a local company and your insurer come first — see contact.

Our editorial standards

Primary sources first
Process and safety claims are sourced to industry standards bodies and federal health and emergency agencies, and the references are on the page.
Calm over urgency
Nothing here is written to make a bad day feel worse. Restoration marketing runs on panic; guidance should not.
Gaps stay visible
Where we cannot verify something, the page says so. People arrive here in an emergency; that is precisely when invented certainty does the most damage.
No paid placement in editorial
We expect to earn revenue by introducing homeowners to restoration companies. That will be disclosed where it applies, and it will not shape what we say about drying, scope or claims.

Two of those deserve expanding. Calm over urgency is a content rule with teeth: restoration marketing runs on the reader’s panic, and the moment guidance borrows that tone it stops being guidance. And gaps stay visible means the site says "we do not know" where that is the answer — what your specific policy covers, how long your specific dry-out will take, whether a given company is good. The full version is in our editorial policy, and how we vet professionals covers the limits of what any verification can prove.

What we publish

Where our claims come from

Process and safety statements on this site are sourced to standards bodies and federal agencies rather than to restoration companies' marketing. Insurance statements describe what standard policies commonly do, never what yours does — your declarations page and your insurer decide that.

Who we are, and how to reach us

HyreRestore is published by a small research and publishing team, working under the organisation byline rather than under invented personas. Corrections are genuinely welcome and are the fastest way to improve a page: if something here cannot be supported by the source we cited, we would rather remove it than defend it. Email hello@hyrerestore.com or call (866) 582-8523, or use the routes on our contact page.

Registered postal address: 6975 Union Park Avenue, Midvale, UT 84047, United States. This is the address of a national information site. There is no warehouse, no equipment and no crew dispatched from it.

How HyreRestore works covers what happens when you send us an enquiry. How we vet covers what is and is not checked. Our lead quality standard is the public commitment about what we will and will not send a restoration company, and the partner page is the other side of the same arrangement.

Questions

Is HyreRestore a restoration company?
No. We do not dry, remediate, demolish or rebuild anything, and no technician works for us. HyreRestore is an independent information resource and a platform intended to connect homeowners with local restoration companies. We are also not an insurer, not a public adjuster and not a law firm, and we do not act on anybody’s claim.
How does HyreRestore make money?
We expect to be paid by restoration companies for introducing homeowners to them. You are never charged for anything on this site, and no tool, guide or calculator is gated behind an email address. That model carries an obvious risk — that the money starts deciding the advice — which is why we publish no company ratings and no reviews, and why the guidance here repeatedly tells people to slow down rather than to hire.
Who writes this?
The HyreRestore research desk. We publish under the organisation rather than inventing individual authors, because a byline that is not a real person with real accountability behind it is a trust signal rather than a fact. Standards and agency positions are sourced to the IICRC, the EPA, the CDC, FEMA and the Insurance Information Institute, with the date we last checked them.
Why do you not publish average restoration prices?
Because the variance inside the average is larger than the average. The same burst supply line is a two-day contained dry-out in one house and a full gut in another, and reconstruction is priced on local building costs that a national figure cannot carry. A single number spanning those is wrong for everybody, and it becomes the number you argue about with a real estimate in front of you. We publish the structure of a restoration bill instead.
Do you rate or recommend restoration companies?
No. We publish no rankings, no star ratings, no reviews and no "best of" lists, because in this trade an unearned recommendation reaches people at their most vulnerable and on the day they are least able to check it. What we publish instead is how to judge a company yourself, and an honest account of what our own checks do and do not cover.
Is HyreRestore part of a larger network?
Yes. HyreRestore is one of the HYRE Network of home-service information sites, which share a research approach, an editorial policy and a technical platform. Each site covers its own trade.
