How long does water damage take to dry?

How long drying takes, as a window, not a promise

IICRC S500 defines the classes. The standard is paywalled, so this tool does not quote its tables. The windows are editorial trade ranges for a labelled class, and they stretch when wet materials are left in place.

3–5 days Class 2, with demo, if the building is open An editorial window, not an S500 quotation. Class 2 is significant absorption into walls and carpet. The job ends when the moisture log hits the drying goal.

Class 1 is the shortest window, Class 4 (hardwood, plaster, concrete) the longest. Leaving wet drywall in place on a Class 2 or 3 loss stretches the window. Equipment running without a log is noise, not drying. Confirm with daily meter readings. HyreRestore does not dry buildings.
